Adherence to statin or aspirin or both in patients with established cardiovascular disease: exploring healthy behaviour vs. drug effects and 10-year follow-up of outcome

This is the full-text of the third study godsilove has posted (Here: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6245 )

The claim is that this study provides clinical evidence that statin drugs decrease morality.

Interestingly, there is no placebo group. This study evaluated aspirin and statins, separately and together, so any claim of "decreased all-cause mortality" is hollow, since it pits statins againt "aspirin" group, and not the general population.

Apparently, statins have a benefit for patients who also take aspirin. But the adherence is low, and the difference in size of the groups makes analysis harder.
