Wrinkles 101

Post by ofonorow » Sun May 05, 2024 9:26 am

Every wrinkle and spot on our face that mars our beauty is not just a superficial lesion, but corresponds to the inner damage of the skin structure. Human skin can be divided into three distinctive layers—epidermis, dermis and subcutaneous fat (see the picture). Each layer is important, and each contributes to both the skin’s appearance and protective function.

Fine lines and wrinkles are a reliable indicator that your stem cells are not working like they used to.
.

Damage to the dermis causes wrinkles, skin sagging, uneven skin tone, and the loss of elasticity. Even when we smile and cry, we cause damage to our skin by stretching it with muscle movements!

Old cells die and new cells emerge. Old structures fall apart, and new ones are created. Wounds heal, and then scar tissue is slowly dissolved over the course of many years. In skin, this process is called skin remodeling.

But in adults, this process slows drastically, and various skin lesions may persist for years or decades. As skin remodeling becomes less and less efficient, skin damage accumulates, resulting in wrinkled, sagging, uneven skin.

When children get sunburned or injure their skin, they do not develop wrinkles or blemishes. Their skin repairs quickly. So in order to win the war against wrinkles, it makes sense to arm ourselves with the secret to youthful adult skin. Our victory lies in enhancing the skin remodeling process.

A major endeavor of the body is to produce new cells that replace skin cells that die. During the rebuilding process, as we age, some of these cells are not replaced, leading to gaps under the out skin layer we call wrinkles. A special type of cell has the ability to come to the rescue.

Skin renewal is made possible by stem cells—very special cells, which possess almost unlimited renovating power. If stem cells remained active through our entire life, we would never have any problem with wrinkles. Unfortunately, as we age, our stem cells start losing their ability to renew skin.

One of the most fascinating qualities of GHK is its ability to invigorate stem cells, bringing them back to a much more youthful state.

Note: The main function of the LifeWave X39 phototherapy patch is to stimulate our body and raise internal levels of the GHKcu peptide to more youthful levels, which in turn reactivates skin stem cells.

And when we remodel skin with potent potions that heal us from wicked wrinkles, the result is pure magic. 1. Skin Remodeling Copper Peptides (SRCPs) are key players in dermal restoration. SRCPs work by using the human body’s systems to get rid of damaged and worn out proteins, while orchestrating and facilitating skin repair and renewal. They are clinically proven to reduce wrinkles, increase skin thickness, lessen sagging, and produce other anti-aging effects.

Lack of collagen is another reason wrinkles might form over "divots" or "gorges" due to a lack of new replacement cells in the second layer of our skin, the dermis

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid)

Vitamin C is an antioxidant vitamin that works together with vitamin E to protect your skin from damaging free radicals. When taken internally, it works with copper to help new collagen synthesis. However, to achieve the effect of aging reversal, vitamin C has to be combined with SRCPs to ensure skin remodeling. Thus, I embarked upon my pilot study with 20 women in 1989. I investigated the wound healing and anti-inflammatory actions of GHK-Cu.

To my delight, I discovered that skin creams containing GHK-Cu increased the thickness of the dermis and epidermis, enhanced elasticity, reduced wrinkles, and resulted in the removal of imperfections, such as blotchiness and sun damage, while producing a significant increase in subcutaneous fat cells. Our tissue cells use vitamin C and a copper enzyme called lysyl oxidase to cross-link and tighten collagen. It also serves as a powerful antioxidant that, together with vitamin E, scavenges and detoxifies harmful free radicals. In order to reap the skin tightening benefits of vitamin C, your system requires adequate amounts of both copper(II) and vitamin C. Since ascorbic acid is very unstable in cosmetic formulations and cannot penetrate the skin well enough, it is best to put copper products on the skin and raise your vitamin C levels with oral supplements.
Fine Lines

Fine lines are superficial wrinkles that first appear in areas with thin, drier skin, such as around the eye. These wrinkles are the easiest to remove. Practically anything that creates mild skin swelling will work for fine lines. Some “anti-aging” products contain mild irritants, which increase blood flow and cause low-grade inflammation. Another common approach is to use detergents, which damage skin barrier and cause temporary swelling of the upper layer. Many products contain polymeric substances, which mechanically tighten skin. The result is fast and amazing—it pleases our hearts to see that just a few seconds after we apply this seductive smelling and soft-to-the-touch cream to our face, our skin becomes noticeably younger. Unfortunately, such products do not rejuvenate skin and can even accelerate aging. To truly get rid of this type of wrinkle, you need to gradually restore your skin barrier and increase the amount of water-holding molecules in your dermis. SRCPs have been clinically proven to strengthen the skin’s barrier and to increase the production of glycosaminoglycans and proteoglycans proteoglycans in the skin. Therefore, they are able to restore skin’s natural capacity to bind and hold moisture, eliminating those fine lines without inflicting any damage to your skin.

Expression Wrinkles

Expression wrinkles are caused by facial muscles stretching skin. They appear on our forehead, around the eyes, and at the sides of the mouth (often called smile and frown lines). Although they are called expression wrinkles and develop in places where our facial muscles stretch our skin, their primary cause is actually loss of skin elasticity. When you stroke a child’s skin, you will notice that it feels tight and elastic, like the surface of a balloon. This is why children can laugh, cry, and make faces and still have smooth and beautiful skin. Unfortunately, as we age, our skin thins and becomes loose and inelastic. Over time, muscle tension in the face becomes stronger than the skin’s elasticity, and muscle contractions begin to create wrinkles. Wrinkles: Skin Elasticity vs. Muscle Tension Fortunately, there is a way to reduce mimic wrinkles, and this is by restoring the skin’s natural elasticity with the help of SRCPs. The wonderful thing about this method is that you can get rid of your wrinkles and still retain your ability to smile, laugh, and even make faces if you wish.

As we age, the rate of skin turnover goes down. At the age of 50, it usually takes 6-7 weeks to renew the epidermis. This leads to thinning out of the epidermis, When we age, fibroblasts start losing their ability to make good collagen, which leads to wrinkles and sagging. As you will learn in the following chapters, GHK plays a key role in maintaining health and youth of skin fibroblasts, ensuring proper collagen synthesis.Old cells die and new cells emerge.
